Life can deliver many challenges to us. Some are those we handle on our own – like the car breaking down, an unexpected bill, a child with the flu. All kind of typical for most folks.
However, we also have times when we’re faced with a problem (or problems) that we feel could crush us. That’s when the worry factor soars and the sleepless nights persist.
But here’s the truth about you, me, and anyone who is a follower of Jesus Christ. We have an option to handle all life situations differently, whether big or small. We have the choice. We can rely on our own wits and perhaps assistance from friends and family. Or we can turn to God and invoke His ways and His laws. And when we trust in Him then freedom always comes.
Here is what Jesus says we are to do when we’re faced with a problem (He calls the challenge a mountain):
For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Mark 11:23
He also says, “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Mark 11:24
Sounds promising, right? But do we really believe what Jesus is telling us to do? Do we trust Him? Can we move into a new way of operating and not have doubt in our hearts, but instead only believe?
That’s what we’re called to do. And we can do it if we choose to step into the kingdom of God way of living and trust the Lord and His Word.
Over and over again, Jesus teaches us to use our words to declare God’s truth in our lives. He tells us to ask. He tells us to say. He tells us to speak. And when we do our part, He promises to do His! He will stand as our Advocate and plead our case with our Father. He will see that whatever was won on the cross will be given to us, when we believe.
So our part is to speak to the mountain. Declare the truth over our lives. And trust in God that what He says in His Word will come to pass.
Too Simple? Too Strange?
What keeps us from following the ways of the Lord? Does it seem too simplistic? Does speaking things into existent seem too odd and too far-fetched? Actually, all of that is true . . . from a worldly point of view. But we’re not to think like the world. Instead, we are to trust in God and submit our way of thinking to His way of thinking.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:32-24
Are you ready to get into God’s Word and see how His kingdom operates? Are you willing to trust Him and even if what He says seems a little odd — according to the ways of the world — you’ll follow the ways of the Lord?
Do you have a mountain of a problem challenging you today? Does God’s Word promise you a different outcome? If so, what does Jesus say to do? He says you are to speak to that mountain and tell it to get out of your life. And believe you receive when you declare the truth of God!
Trust until God performs His Word. Keep trusting. Keep believing that the solution is already on its way. Keep declaring. Keep choosing God’s ways. And then celebrate when what you’ve already received through your trust in God and it manifests in the natural!
That is the way of the Lord and the way of our faith!
Have you had a time when you’ve used the ways of the Lord to receive what you need in your life? Please share your stories of faith to build the faith of others!
Thank you for this message as Proverbs 3: 5-6 has been given to me already this week. Seeing it in this message is my confirmation that this is the only way for me to be. As these past few months I have had some testing times and trusting in the Lord has kept me even in my doubt God has delivered me and come through for me. Today I am trusting, waiting and thanking the Lord as I cast my burden upon him.
Glory be to God our Heavenly Father. I have this huge mountain in front of me and by Jesus name I declare and command it to move into the see so I can see the beautiful valley in front of me. Three years ago I resigned from work and opened a small business,of which I prayed to God to let me know when was the right time to leave work and start this business. I’ve always wanted to resign but always had a little voice whispering in my ear saying….not yet, but in 2013 when I again wanted to resign, the little voice told me yes, it’s time and immediately I felt a cold breeze on my face and I immediately typed and handed in my resignation! I believe with all my heart that it was God giving me the heads up. In 7 month’s time, I got so many jobs. Every month I’d get 1 or 2 jobs for my company and it was a joyful time for me. After a while, everything sadly went haywire, nothing was going my way. Customers were no longer paying me on time, I lost a few contracts, workers were protesting against me because I couldn’t pay them on time, I couldn’t eat or sleep, always having migranes! I didn’t and couldn’t understand what was going on. My husband used to hold and rock me to sleep like a baby! I prayed so hard , I cried to God for help, I got angry and shouted at Him and later apologised 🙈🙈, but nothing happened. One day I saw some program on TV regarding losing weight and one of ladies was talking about Daniel Fast. So I Googled what’s that all about and your name popped up Susan. I started reading about you and your life journey and I got fascinated by it. I then subscribed to your website and I can say, you’ve opened my eyes. I had an AHA moment! I came to realise that why everything went wrong in my business. I stopped relying on God, I relied on myself and family, I totally forgot about God! When I had problems, I called my family to bail me out and not God! I’m ashamed to say they are also in debt because of me, they were my rescuers and I took them down with me! Now, I’m back on track, I’m believing in Jesus to deliver me from financial debt, in fact He has already done it on the Cross and my faith will take the prosperity from the spiritual realm to the natural realm! I worship and praise Him for the blessings He has showered upon me! Glory be to God, for He is good and loving and Gracious! I do not deserve His love but because of His grace, I am favoured! I will keep on worshipping Him and declaring with my mouth to move this moutain ! Thank you Susan for your teachings. May God continue to bless you and continue guiding you through the Holy Spirit! I love and appreciate you.
Glory to God! He is so good and I am honored and thankful that He used me to touch your life.
Your story is part of the journey of a believer. We learn. We wrestle. We stand strong. We forget. We get back on track.
Praise God that He’s always there for us and the more mature we become and the more disciplined we live — the better our lives will be. Bit-by-bit is the way I try to lead my life . . . and always trying to walk forward with Jesus!
Thanks for your message and blessings to you! Yes, declare His word over your life and trust in the Lord!
Susan, last email received was day 3.do you know what’s going on with other days
Thank God for his living word.
To God be the Glory, i hear what the Lord is saying , I’ll trust in Him with all my heart. Amen.
Yes, glory to God!
Yes Lord I have spoken to my mountains and I beleive they shall move. I trust in the Lord with my whole heart my finances will increase and I will purchase the car I need.
I bless God for everything that He is doing in my life. I became the Bride of Christ a week ago, rededicating my life back to Him. From that day, I have felt so much joy, and even tho I still have issues, I now, believe and understand that they only come to make me better and stronger. I have the victory and according to Psalm 111:5 He will give me food and provision as long as I reverently and worshipfully fear Him. Thanks so much Ms. Susan for your ministry, and I pray that everything thing you continue to touch the Lord Almighty will prosper and bless you.
Praise God for the everlasting life you have just joined!
Blessings to you, dear one! Love, love, and more love!
Yes, I remember when my two year old daughter was having seizures….she was having as many as 1,000 a day. Emergency room visits turned into 8 day stays with medication that would only temporarily fix the problem. This occurred for two years. During the time I kept praying Lord, what do you want me to do? I sang El Shaddai by Amy Grant over her every night. One day my husband and I got into an argument. My daughter had gotten worse. She lost movement on the left side of her body. She could not keep her balance./ The doctors was now requiring her to wear a leg brace and orthotics and a I chose a pretty pink safety helmet. We went to church every Sunday but when she got all this stuff. My husband was embarrassed and did not want me to put it on her. But God told me she was my gift and I knew what to do. I dressed her as cute as I could. She was a non-speaker. I spoke to her telling her how beautiful she was daily. My husband started distancing his self form me and our daughter but I laid it in God’s hands. I am here today to 6 years late to tell you that my daughter is now 8 years old, singing, dancing and playing the piano. My husband is now in Divinity School, preaching and teaching the Gospel and I survived this with no medicines, alcohol…just the word of God. Ephesians 3:20 is what I stand on every day and I will praise and thank him for bringing me through this and future trials
Praise God for His goodness and for your patience! Sometimes (and often times it’s women) we are called to be the strong one in the family to hold on to God’s truth and faithfulness.
Glory to the Lord for the great outcome and that is in store for you and your whole family as you put your trust in Him!
Praise be to the most High! GLord be to God our father, glory be to our Saviour Jesus Christ! Praise and worship His Holy Name! What a beautiful testament. Thank you for sharing your beautiful story. I will keep on believing till my blessings manifest in this natural realm! Praise God!
Praise God from whom all Blessings flow! Thank you! God does work. I have a mountain in my life, the selling of my home which has been on the market for almost 8 months. People have come and gone, made offers and then changed their mind. My new home is ready and I am keeping the faith that God will move this mountain before it is time to make the first payment on my new home. I am asking God to not have me pay two mortgages. I know it will be just fine! God works!
Thank you all for sharing and your encouraging words. To God be the Glory!
Daphne, there was a time many years ago when I was in a similar situation where I really needed a piece of property to sell. God led me to “plant a seed” for this need, which I did. He also called me to forgive a person who had borrowed money from me many years before and never repaid me. I remember walking to the mailbox and submitting the gift and the forgiven debt to the Lord. The next day the property sold! It closed fast and all was well.
God has your back. He will see you through. Praise God that you continue to trust Him.
To God I give all glory and honor, I have been so deep in the valley, that I wanted to die, but God he remind me when everything around me has fail he’s there for me he’ll never leave me or forsake me, I’m glad I listen to his voice, he’s awesome.
Thank God for all the powerful encouraging testimonials of God’s greatness and powerful strength at work in our lives. Such a wonderful reminder of What a powerful mighty all living loving caring Savior we belong to. So glad for His saving grace and mercy. We can always depend on lean on and have confidence in Our God. He’s never lost a case. No matter it what looks like, sounds like when we keep God in our plans He will answer in His season, His timing. We just ask, seek, and knock like the great soaring eagle that has strength and vision and carries the children on His wings So does our Father Lord and Savior Jesus Christ carry us. We just keep trusting and believing faithfully waiting and watch as His word will do the work. To God be all the glory for His unfailing faithful love for us. All be ever blessed in every area of your lives. Thank you Susan for sharing as always God’s words of true life.
My daughter was pregnant with twins and went into labor the first time at 25 weeks. And again 3 more times in the following weeks. Each time they stopped it. That first time in the hospital, the neonatal doctor met with them and advised them of all the “possible” complications if these boys were born too early. He stressed the decreasing risks if they could just keep them inside the womb for a little while longer. When we came back in the room after they met with the neonatologist, we were met with red-rimmed eyes from two very scared parents-to-be. We started to pray for 28 weeks. On the Sunday before her 28th week started, she went into labor once again and this time they put her in the hospital for the duration of her pregnancy. That only lasted 3 days. On Wednesday, December 17, 2014, my daughter went into labor once again, but this time they couldn’t stop it. I’ll never forget the text I received from my son-inlaw at 7:30am. “The boys are coming. c-section in 30 minutes”. My first reaction was to drop to my knees and pray. Second reaction was to call my husband at work- frantic, sobbing, worrying and thinking the worst…. his only words to me were, “Cindy, what have we been praying for?” Thru the sobs I replied, “28 weeks”. He said, “what day is it?” My response, “28 weeks”. My grandsons will be 2 in a couple of months and they are as perfect as can be! PRAISE THE LORD FOR ANSWERED PRAYERS !
Oh, Cindy! Your story has brought me to tears as I celebrate God’s faithfulness with you! He is so good.
Such a lovely story! Thank you for sharing it. Your testimony is a faith-builder for all who read it!
Love to you all!
Susan, thank you so much for this reminder. I am a living proof of God’s faithfulness. Some testimonies take time to come, but you know what, God is faithful to his word. Prophet Habbakuk said for the vision is for an appointed time and it will speak in the end. God is faithful to his word. I have seen real manifestations of God’s word in my life for the past few weeks. The enemy has been battling his health, not mine and he knows he has failed completely. Praise God! Jesus is real. The word of God is powerful. Halleluya!
Yes, He is faithful. Our part is to trust, believe and be patient (knowing He will perform His Word).
It works if we work in His ways! Praise to our Almighty God!
There is neither mountain too high nor any valley too low that God cannot climb or come down. He is willing to meet with us wherever we are. If only we believe His Word and launch out in faith in Him our prayers will be answered. Thank you for the reminder!
Thank You for your posts , always inspiring and always bringing me closer to a better understanding of Jesus in my life. I have truly wonderful stories of Jesus answering my prayers at critical times. Instantaneously in fact. He is so real to me that when I talk to myself , I’m not talking to myself, I’m talking to Him, just sometimes out loud. He’s with me every minute of everyday. I can’t live without Him. He is my constant companion. As I spoke about Him to my grandson, who is 4, I made a mistake of talking about how wonderful Heaven is. He replied with, “I want to die”. This conversation arose when he asked me about grandpa and if he had brothers or sisters. I explained that his brother and sister are in Heaven with God. He asked how they died. I said one in a car accident and one had a bad stomach disease. I immediately switched the subject to Heaven and that’s when he said he wanted to die. I told him God had to pick when and how. That was the end of the conversation, phew! To me it’s all just matter of fact, I don’t realize my audience. Like asking the head of pediatrics of children’s hospital, “Don’t you believe in miracles?” In response to his inquiry as to how my baby , 5 months old at the time, suffocated and then came back to life (After I screamed out His name, Jesus Christ). This same child is the mother of the 4 year old child descibed above. The same child that his mother considered abortion until I drove her to my ob/gyn. That’s when unbeknownst to me , they did a sonogram on the spot. When she saw that picture of that baby , she swore to me she saw him waving to her. That’s when the idea of abortion left her mind, praise the Lord!! I have more stories because I have seven daughters. A set of twins to boot. God has always been there with me helping to raise them. People used to ask me how I did it. I’d say , ” by the Grace of God, there go I.” My new motto is ,”nothing is impossible with God.”
Praise God for His goodness and for the ministry you have in your family!
God’s love and grace is available always. <3
There was a time in my life when I was not able to conceive, I lost two baby boys and my soul was crushed every time I had gotten pregnant. There also became a time when I was trying to do it on my on, in my own timing and I felt even more hurt because every time I thought I was pregnant I found out I wasn’t. So I finally gave up, I finally gave it to God and as soon as I let go of my plan and gave in to his plan I received my promise.
So don’t lean on your own understanding, don’t lean to your own plan but
trust God and let him work his perfect will for your life and know that he is the author and the finisher of all thing in your life.
Praise God for His faithfulness. He is the keeper of His promises. Our part is to believe!
Thanks for sharing your message. I am so happy for you, your family, and the precious life your Father has entrusted to your care.
Yes I have been speaking to mountains in my life and God has been very faithful to perform miracles. Many times I need patience but eventually it is done. Thanks for what you have made me learn. I need more of Jesus.
God is faithful to perform His Word. Praise our Lord!
God and His Word are indeed the answers to all of life’s cares, concerns and controversies… There is a heavenly flow as we remain in Him and His Word! Thanks for the encouragement Susan! His blessings and peace to you~
Trusting in God is essential. We can only do this when we have truly given ourselves to Him. Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your.heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways accknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.”
Rev. Saundra
Thanks Susan for the inspiration. Indeed our is true to His word, when you trust Him. We spoke to some mountains that had been in our way for some time. We prayed, believed, trusted God & took Him at word. God gave us miracle money for all the things that we put before Him. The glory remains His. Thanks Susan for the inspiration, God richly bless you & all the brethren who you reach out too
The word of God is alive and does wonders if we can just stand and stay in it. I have experienced ressurrection from death( my personal encounter),supernatural supplies, healings and so much wonders as a result of the living word of God. I can’t over emphasize the power of God’s word as it has the ability to perform itself. Stay in the word friends. Blessings & have a beautiful day.
So much in this was needed as a reminder to reflect on past victories as we speak to current mountains. Faith is a powerful choice and God’/ love is even greater. Thank you for this.
What great reminders. We can choose to live on the mountaintop, or crawl through valley. Romans 8:5. The mind on the flesh is death, the mind on the spirit is LIFE and PEACE! Thanks!
Oh today as I was destined by jelousy workmates to have lost my job. This was planned for maybe four months ago without my knowledge. I have a Judas at work but Susan the God I save is amazing
i was tortured say anything but I remainef steadfast to my Lord. I have retained my job though my sslary has been cut
Am still praying that tbe mountain will move and be compensated my salary right im front of my enemies. I will keep my faith buring om Jesus Christ
Amen
God is able to make all grace abound toward you that you will have all sufficiency in all things and an abundance for every good work! Amen!
I lost my house to foreclosure. It was the house my husband bought before he passed away. We had good memories and I really thought the Lord would save it from foreclosure. I tried everything…refinancing, borrowing etc. In the end I lost it. I was so discouraged. I thought, if I didn’t qualify for refinancing then I won’t quality to purchase another house with only my income. Well. I was wrong. Someone how I did. God showed me he alone is all I need to be complete. I bought a newer house with the money from the sale of our house and I am living proof that God does work all things together for our good to those who are called according to his purpose.
Praise God. So often we try to design our future and then have God bless it. Yet, we are so much better when we trust in Him and let Him direct our paths into the bright future He has for us.
Thanks for sharing your story. It speaks volumes of God’s perfect and blessed ways.
